Noise pollution is a very important issue regarding aviation sustainability. Why? Sustainability means that an idea is ready for the future. With more laws and regulations regarding noise pollution for people around airports, it is clear that this future requires us to change traditional aviation methods and procedures. The FAA NextGen program seeks to eliminate stepped approaches as they take too much time. However, these new approaches also produce higher sounds, which can cause stress to people living underneath.
